Work Party

Message From The Commodore

Hi everyone,

Annual Meeting

Friday night's Annual Spring Meeting went very well. If you were there, thank youfor coming. If you were not able to make it, unfortunately, you missed an outstanding guest speaker. Diane Kampf, from the Flying Scot Association gave an excellent overview of the 19' Flying Scot and the organization. Diane has sent me a copy of her presentation in case anyone would like a copy.

It Always Rains...

It always rains on closing day. At least it always seems that way. This year it was not too cold so being wet was not all that bad. Generally sprits were high. The docks with new flotation required some engineering for winter storage but otherwise everything went smooth.

Some brave people have left their boats in the water to keep the summer alive. Hopefully their boats won't get locked in ice!

Work Party Announcement

QYC is an all volunteer club and we all need to put in our expected 15 service hours/year. In an effort to keep our Club and grounds in good condition and to enable you to perform some of your required services hours. We are planning a Work Party on Saturday, August 4th starting at 8:30a.m. Some of the items that we plan on tackling on that day are:

  • Painting picnic tables
  • Paint trim on club
  • Paint white cement wall
  • Cleaning the red awning
  • Cleaning shed
  • Dock repairs
  • Club boat repairs - if necessary

Club Opening & Storm Prepartions

Regardless of the weather people are always in great spirits during opening because they know that good weather and the upcoming sailing season are near. This years opening was no exception as the docks were put back in the water, the grounds were cleaned up, and parts of the clubhouse got fresh paint.
