QYC’s sailing season is underway. People are sailing, so pull that tarp and hose off the residue of winter.

Three Lasers launched and sailed today and while the water was cold, it certainly didn’t numb our toes. We were out for about an hour and a half with lots of gusts and moments of perfect breeze. The first few minutes I felt clumsy and a little like a clown in shoes that were too big, but once I got my balance the moves started coming back.

Join us next weekend on Saturday at 10:00 to 11:30 for a clubhouse session on racing. We’ll discuss how to take your racing up a notch for intermediate racers and how to get started for beginners. This is a chance to kick start your thinking and plan your approach to QYC racing, which starts on Wednesday May 18^th and Sunday June 5^th.

On May 8^th and 15^th at 10:00 there will be “Learn to Run a Race” trainings and at 11:30 we will have on-the-water practice starts and mark roundings, with coaching for those who want help.
