Sailing

QYC offers many opportunities for beginner and expert sailors. The club has lessons and clinics for both children and adults. QYC also has racing every Wednesday night and Sunday afternoon. Throughout the summer the club also hosts may social events and regattas for both member and nonmembers. Sailing is probably one of the few sports where you can compete with a spouse, a child, or a friend. There is no better way to spend some time with a loved one than on a boat.

Fleets

QYC promotes and races one design boats. Racing one design boats ensures that no competitor has an unfair advantage during the race because all boats are alike and follow strict class rules. Other boats are welcome and we support handicap scoring for our mixed fleet. We also encourage the formation of new fleets provided at least three boats belong to that fleet. Each fleet has its own start during our Sunday racing series.

Lessons

Learning how to sail, and race, creates an opportunity for a lifetime of fun. Whether sailing at QYC or not you will meet interesting people and make new friends. When people asked you what you did on the weekend you will be sure to have a story or two to share. QYC has several programs for learning how to sail for both children and adults.

Regattas

The club hosts several local and regional regattas. People come from all over to compete in one and two day regattas. Make friends, meet people and learn more about the great sport.
