Summer Activities That You Do Not Want To Miss!

Hello All,

Did you miss the activities at the club last weekend?  If so, you don’t want to miss them the next time.  We had a really fun time at the Day Sailor Regatta on Saturday, and the Pot Luck Supper on Sunday.

At the DS regatta on Saturday, we had 10 Day Sailers racing in a variety of winds.  The sun came out, the winds increased, and the competition was fierce.   It was an exciting regatta.      Off the water, Cathy Silva was busily preparing a wonderful lunch for the sailors and race committee, and then offered ‘hot fudge ice cream sundaes’ after the races.   (you can tell what I preferredJ)    Terri Shortlidge also gave  Cathy a helping hand to complete the lunch setup and clean up.    I want to extend my thanks to Cathy and Terri for making a really good race day,  great!

On Sunday, we had our first Pot Luck Supper for 2009.  It was a great success!  We had over 30 members participating with their families who enjoyed A LOT of delicious food.   Good food, good conversation, and a beautiful location!  What more can you ask.  My  thanks go out to everyone for attending, and preparing marvelous food.   We had a wide variety of appetizers, entrees, and deserts.    In particular, I want to thank Laurie Siano who organized the dinner, prepared all the club provisions, then setup the lovely table settings, and clean up.   Of course, my thanks also to our other members who assisted Laurie with final setup and cleanup.

We had several requests for the recipes for the entrées and appetizers.   If you would not mind sending the recipes to me,

I can have Eric Wojtaszek  post them to the QYC Web site so that everyone can have them.

Thanks again to our QYC volunteers and QYC members who made these events a success.
