Quannapowitt Yacht Club

The QYC Laser fleet will soon have the club Lasers ready for the sailing season. QYC has four club owned Laser for use by the members. One is considered our racing Laser and will soon be retrofitted with all new, easy to use hardware. We hope that prospective Laser sailors will contact a Laser fleet member to set up a one-to-one clinic and practice session.

The laser is a challenging boat to sail the first few times and then becomes one of the most responsive and interesting. With the help of an experienced Laser sailor you will have a chance to see for yourself how the boat brings out the best in sailors and is therefore a training ground for many of the top sailors in the world.

Plan on a light air day and get ready to enjoy a few swims. Soon you’ll be able to right the boat without even getting wet. One of our members weighs just a bit over a hundred pounds and she can handle righting her Laser, so there is no doubt that you can to with a little training.
