Quannapowitt Yacht Club

Tuesday Night, June 12, QYC's adult sailing program was kicked off. This year a large number of people signed up and a waiting list had to be formed! Tuesday afternoon there was some concern about the weather but as the day progressed the forecast improved and we ended up with a beautiful night for new sailors.

After a short introduction to how a sailboat works and some basic terms everyone went out for a sail and enjoyed gentle breezes under a beautiful sunset. By the end of the night everyone had the chance to skipper a boat with the help of an experienced member on board. This year, if time permits, the classes will include a gentle introduction to racing.

Thanks to the hard work of Jeff, Jean, and other members who organized the program the program is off to a great start.
